Financial Situation Fragrances

Financial Situation Fragrances

We no longer need to open a newspaper or switch on a news channel to see what the situation on the today’s financial market is. It is enough to notice what fragrances people are starting to use in order to say what their financial expectations are.

An interesting study has been conducted by Fragrance Foundation, the international organization of perfumers. It has been revealed that in the period of economic difficulties and financial crises consumers prefer soothing or uplifting fragrances.

For perfumers, these are not just words. As usual, soothing fragrances are compositions with warm and delicious notes, such as chocolate and figs. Uplifting fragrances are closer to culinary ones since they contain the notes of coconut, vanilla, some spices, and citrus.

Allure went further on. It has created a selection of fragrances that match the crisis moods in society:

  • Bond No. 9 Andy Warhol Lexington Avenue. This is one of the most savory fragrances. It has the notes of roasted almonds and creme brulee. A great anti-crisis idea for you!
  • Dolce & Gabbana The One. A sexy, but soft and feminine mixture of plum, peach and vanilla. You can even stay in the house, curl up and enjoy calmness and bliss.
  • Dior Escale aux Marquises Eau de Toilette. The fragrance was inspired by the journeys of Francois Demachy, the House of Dior perfumer, to French Polynesia. It has the notes of vanilla, pink pepper, and Italian flowers.
  • Jo Malone Grapefruit Cologne. Clean citrus notes of the cologne water invigorate and at once create a good mood: grapefruit, tangerine, vetiver, and rosemary.
  • Caudalie Zeste de Vigne Fragrance. A very funny and invigorative summer smell which has strong citrus shades.

Givenchy Dahlia Noir Fragrance

Givenchy Dahlia Noir Fragrance

The name of the latest Givenchy (and its creative director Riccardo Tisci) fragrance is Dhalia Noir, Black Dalia, a flower that doesn’t exist in the flora – evoking mystical associations with beauty dark, but devoid of evil, sensual, but not threatening to engulf, hot, but not scorching. The effect is created with mandarin, mimosa, pink pepper, iris, rose, sandalwood, vanilla, tonka bean, and patchouli.

The promo commercial for the mysterious perfume is already out all over the world, featuring Givenchy’s favorite supermodel Mariacarla Boscono.

Scheduled for unveiling this month are prestige women’s perfumes BCBG Max Azria’s debut scent, Especially Escada, Madly Kenzo, and Etro Paisley.

Long Wear Eyeliner

Pleasure or precision? If you choose the latter, in future it may be a robot who will be doing your face. Want to get a feel of it? Here’s a futuristic ad from the makeup brand Nars intended to impress us with their new Larger than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner that is expected to be not less accurate than a laser.

The ad shows model Emily Baker, scantily clad in underwear and heels, yielding to highly technical ministrations of two robot arms on a surgical table. In a process resembling an operation or some engineering adjustment a mechanical arm picks up an eyeliner and proceeds to apply it.

A Fabien Baron direction, the ad is to inspire the watchers with “precision application” that promises a “striking impact.”

Nars claims the Larger than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner is good for 12 hours wear free from caking and smearing. It comes in nine shades bearing the names of famous streets all over the globe, like a deep plum Bourbon Street or a royal blue Rue Saint Honore. The robot-precise eye pencil retails for $23.

Woman Spends $164,000 on Makeup

It’s clearly one of the highlights of the day for many to set out shopping for makeup, but how often we halted to figure out just how much we fork out for our beauty? Yeah, we suspect it’s quite a sum, but it requires a survey to have us face the fact. Well, here goes: Britain’s Bionsen conducted a study that nailed the makeup expenditures down to the average of $164,000 for the whole life.

Considering that 56% of the ladies polled admitted they won’t think twice of paying $30 for a designer mascara, does it really come as a surprise that the weekly sum spent on beauty products comes up to around $65?

Looking into the average woman’s carry-about cosmetics purse, Bionsen estimated its worth at more than $200. The home set, of course, is a shade better equipped: it was found to contain over 50 items with the total cost of over $833. There may be a world financial crisis raging on, but the folk from Sephora must have hardly heard the word at all.

And doesn’t it make the guys a mite unhappy to learn that 57% of fair ladies said they’d sooner stand their boyfriends up than step out barefaced? It does, so maybe this is one set of statistics that might make everyone happier if it dropped.

Magnetic Attraction Nail Lacquers by Nails

An unusual nail polish with metal particles has been invented. Working with a special magnet, you can achieve amazing effects.

The inventor is British Nails Inc. The new paint is available under the name of Magnetic Attraction. All in all, there have been produced three shades: black, gray, and purple. All of them contain iron powder. Such a nail polish is sold with special magnetic nozzles built into the lid of the bottle. First, the desired shade of nail polish should be used, then a magnet is applied to the nail, and the nail becomes corrugated, imitating the pattern of the magnet.

Nail Polishes Magnetic Attraction

The innovation has been accepted very quickly. Even though the British miracle will not be sold around the world until October, the analogues are already on sale. For example, the LCN company, which specializes in professional products for manicure, produces eight suchlike nail polishes, which are based on a magnetic attraction. Nail polishes cost about $10. However, the magnets are sold separately (about $20). While the novelty of Nails Inc. gives the nail just a relief, the products presented by LCN can create different designs on your nails.

One should hold the magnet over each nail about 10-12 seconds, and then it is better to wait for about 5 minutes before covering the nails with the upper protective coating.

DKNY Million Dollar Fragrance Bottle Design

The first perfume bottle in the world bearing the price tag of one million dollars will soon sweep the scent markets. Its creators are Martin Katz and DKNY Delicious in conjunction with their DKNY Golden Delicious Eau de Parfum line, coming in three different sizes of 100ml, 50ml and 30ml.

A New York dedication is all over the bottle, from its apple shape to the Manhattan skyline laid out in a great number of gems including 2,700 round white diamonds and sapphires, that looks as unique as New York itself. The bottle has been made from polished 14-karat white and yellow gold.

The DKNY Million Dollar perfume will travel across the globe from London to Mexico and further on, and upon the completion of the tour will be offered for sale. The Action Against Hunger charity is reported to benefit from the proceeds.

Fragrance Versace Yellow Diamond

Versace began to produce its line of glamorous fragrances dedicated to various crystals in 2004. At that time it was the Crystal Noir perfume. In 2006, the popular Bright Crystal version was produced. This year’s collection includes one more new fragrance, Yellow Diamond.

Yellow Diamond was created as a pure and clear air-floral aroma. It is sparkling and bright as the yellow color, but at the same time luxurious and feminine, like a diamond.

The fragrance opens with some refreshing notes of lemon, bergamot, neroli and pear sorbet. The “heart” notes are air-floral: orange flower, freesia, mimosa, and lily of the mountain. The “base” of the fragrance is represented by amber, musk, and guaiac light wood.

The new Yellow Diamond perfume bottle is of the same shape as that of the previous fragrances dedicated to crystals, but yellow in color.

The face of the fragrance is the Australian model Abbey Lee Kershaw, and the shooting was held by Mario Testino in Paris.

Dior Makeup Collection for Fall 2011 Is Full of Blue

This fall, Dior counts on blue. Remember the words of the famous couturier that “the dark blue is the only color that can compete with the black?” It looks like it is time for a reality check of this phrase.

Indeed, black and dark blue nail polishes (mainly with the “metallic” effect) are once again included into this autumn trends. But Dior makeup artists offer a wider look at the trends of Fall 2011.

For the Fall-2011 season, the brand offers a charming trio of sea shades:

  • Tuxedo,
  • Blue Denim,
  • Beige Safari

Dior makeup artists recommend creating a “new French manicure” on the basis of a pair of blue + beige, or using them as a local covering.

New nail polishes should complement other fall products to create a new image from the Blue Tie collection by Dior:

    • for the blue smoky eye, there has been produced a new four-color reticulation of shadows (it has the shimmering silver tones of sapphire, dark night, deep sea, and tin hue)

Makeup Collection by Charlotte Ronson

This fall beauty creators are going to have a piece of unexpected rivalry from no-one else but Charlotte Ronson! Anything coming from the British fashion designer is very much welcome, and hopefully the same can be said about her latest – a beauty line she is knocking together for launching in September.

The line, named after its creator, is going to be produced exclusively for Sephora and sold in 280 stores over the States. It is expected to spin off limited edition collections later. The CR “lifestyle beauty collection” isn’t meant to hit the eye with a lotta glitz – as is common with Ronson, everything is toned down “for girl who believe that less is more,” to quote the creator herself.

The prices follow suit fitting into the cosmetic empire’s middle level; the items go for around $15 for a lip gloss and $30 for makeup product sets for face, hair and body plus accessories.

The characteristic feature of the collection is family-mindedness: Ronson roped in her friends and family members for inspiration and created some of the items to match their styles, the items bearing the names of her sisters Annabelle and Samantha as well as Drea de Matteo and Nicole Richie.

Selena Gomez to Launch a Fragrance

The young Canadian singer Justin Bieber is known to have recently launched his own fragrance. The boy’s example must have influenced his girlfriend Selena Gomez. The girl followed her beloved one and decided to launch a fragrance as well.

The launch of her personal perfume is expected very soon. It is said to be competing with the fragrance created by Bieber. Selena confessed that she had been working on the creation of the fragrance for almost a year controlling everything by herself – from the composition of the aroma and the bottle design to the advertising campaign.

The fans of the young couple are now trying to guess whose fragrance will gain greater popularity – that of Justin’s, or maybe Selena’s. However, the fans hope this competition will not be the pretext for Selena and Justin’s breaking up. Though they might not even think about it, since both of them are very busy. Selena even decided that she would not celebrate her birthday because she needed to rehearse a concert program for the upcoming tour. Gomez supposes that her mother may be preparing a surprise for her, but the girl did not ask her about anything.

Fragrance Celine Dion Signature

The Coty perfume company should be very satisfied with their cooperation with the Canadian singer Celine Dion. From 2003 on, her fans have been getting a perfume novelty every year, but during the last three years they had even two of them annually. The new fragrance – Celine Dion Signature – is to be launched in September 2011.

The new fragrance for women, Celine Dion Signature, offers the top notes of mimosa, rose apple, and agave. The notes of the “heart” include Indian jasmine, rose, and magnolia blossoms. And the base notes are sensuous and mysterious due to musk, amber wood, and sandalwood.

The author of the fragrance is the perfumer Ilias Ermenidis who is known for his successful fragrances of Vera Wang Princess, Salvador Dali Salvador, Moschino L’Eau Cheap and Chic, Gucci by Gucci, Givenchy Pour Homme, and many other popular compositions. So, there is no doubt that the new fragrance will be accepted.
