Hair rinses are simple and quick to make and they are effective in restoring the hair's natural PH balance. Hair rinse are also clarifying and remove and last traces of shampoo or conditioner residue that may remain on the hair shaft. This helps make the hair shine.   • Apple Cider Vinegar Hair Rinse Recipe.

Cider vinegar has been used as a hair rinse since the time of our grandmothers and here apple cider vinegar is used as the base ingredients. Combined with the fresh aroma of orange flower water and petit grain, this makes a stimulating, clarifying hair rinse. Apple cider vinegar hair rinse is suitable for all hair types, though it works especially well on greasy hair.

Ingredients For Apple Cider Vinegar Hair Rinse.

1 tsp (5ml) apple cider vinegar, 1 tb sp (10ml) orange flower water, 1 tb sp (10ml) spring water, 3 drops petit grain, 1 drop bergamot.

  1. Measure the apple cider vinegar into a glass bottle. Add the orange flower water and the spring water. Shake well to combine.
  2. Carefully add the essential oils, one by one, and shake well to disperse them.
  3. The hair rinse is ready to use. Slowly pour through your freshly shampooed and conditioned hair. Leave on hair for a couple of mintues.

This hair rinse recipe uses herbs and lemons - you can easily find fresh organic herbs and citrus fruits. The recipe suggests using rosemary, which is the best for dark hair. If you have light hair, substitute chamomile for the rosemary. Parsley is another alternative, and gives your hair a really clean shine.

The juice of one freshly squeezed lemon 1 tsp (5 gm) fresh, finely chopped rosemary, chamomile, or parsley, enough water to cover the herbs in a small saucepan.

  1. Squeeze the lemon juice into a glass jug. Put the finely chopped herbs into a saucepan and pour in enough water to cover. Bring to the boil and simmer for five mintues.
  2. Strain the mixture through muslin and let the herb infusion cool. Mix 2 tb sp (20ml) of the herbal infusion into the lemon juice.
  3. The hair rinse is now ready to use. Slowly pour through your freshly shampooed and conditioned hair. Leave on the hair for a couple of mintues.
  4. Rinse your hair thoroughly with cool or tepid water.
